The National Service Scheme
A Government of India-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The NSS program for B.Ed students was started at Mahatma Gandhi University from 2022. NSS activities started in the National College for Teacher Education from 2023. NSS activities are being carried out in a very extensive manner in the college. The NSS aims to instill a sense of social responsibility, develop leadership qualities, and bridge the gap between academic institutions and the community.
Objective: To develop the personality and character of student youth through voluntary community service. The motto of NSS is "Not Me But You," emphasizing selfless service and consideration for others.
Activities: NSS volunteers participate in various community service activities and programs, including:
* Blood donation drives
* Tree plantation and environmental conservation
* Health and sanitation awareness campaigns
* Literacy programs
* Promotion of social harmony
* Disaster management assistance
* Awareness programs on social issues
